I just want to say that I love Vancouver Island!!! I had such an awesome day today from start (4AM) to finish (when I finish this blog entry)…
It has been a while since I’ve been on the road and I was starting to really miss the fun and adventure that happens when travelling around speaking. Today I took the early ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo then drove to Courtenay. I spoke at the Glacierview Learning Centre and just laid it all out on the line as energetically, as enthusiastically and as sincerely as I ever have. Both of the audiences today were super rad! I was so stoked that I busted out my new video / slideshow. Although it’s still a work in progress, today was the official unofficial unleashing. I will be working with my boy Mikey from VCAD next week to add the finishing touches, so I can officially release the vid! It looks sick so far! If you hit me on Twitter, you can catch a small glimpse.
I have felt like my life has been lacking something the past while and I truly believe that this is it. Not to say that I haven’t had great moments at home because I have. There is just something about being away where I am surrounded by nothing but the audiences I meet, the roads I travel, the emails I respond to and the inspiration I am fed daily… Not to mention the sick hotels I stay in.
I get pretty spoiled over here on the Island. I have stayed here so often that I am a preferred customer at (in my opinion) sickest hotels in Nanaimo (The Coast Bastion Inn) and Victoria (Laurel Point). It feels like my home away from home here on Vancouver Island, and as I said at the beginning of this blog I love it here. I am stoked to be here and sincerely looking forward to the remainder of my week.
Well it has been an 18 hour day, so I think it’s time to shut er down for the night. I think I just figured something else out… maybe I am so stoked because I love being busy. Upon that revelation, I will conclude with these words… I am hoping for another busy spring ahead because this guy is all smiles tonight.
Thanks for reading and huge thanks to everyone from today and also everyone from last week at CDGMS. Best grade eight audience ever!!!
Peace.
